Dear PBMA Members;
Please note below samples of activities warrenting CME credits.. Please comment, and will be further discussed per 12th PBMA Conference in the RMI..
a. A lecture on a relevant topic for an hour: weekly or biweekly event, hour for an hour
b. A lecture by a visiting consultant, hour for an hour
c. A training workshop on a specific topic presented by experts, i.e. TB, STI, DM, etc hour for an hour
d. A Health Conference of 1-5 days off-island or on-island, credits recognized by crediting entities and Board, hour for an hour
e. Web-based CPD correspondence course, hour for an hour
f. Preparing and presenting a lecture on a health or clinical topic, 4 hours
g. Preparing and presenting a lecture, poster session, workshop, seminar for a national or international meeting, 8 hours
h. Writing and publishing an article in a recognized health journal, 10 hours
i. Being a primary mentor for a resident preparing to go on to extend post-graduate training off-island - one hour per month.
j. Primary mentor for visiting health trainee, one hour per week.
k. Activities that will not qualify for CPD credits:
1. Personal time reading health books/journal
2. Preparing patient materials for a consultation
3. Teaching non-health workers informally.
l. All other activities will be determined by a Health Professional Association or Board of Medical/Health licensure.
